Know your measurements

Keeping healthy is good for your emotional wellbeing as well as your body. Being unwell can mean you’re unable to do the things you love and make you happy, like seeing friends or taking part in activities or hobbies.

Below is our ‘Know your measurements’ form which you may fill in:

weight in kg

When measured with your height we can calculate your Body
Mass Index (BMI). A healthy weight range can then be identified.

fat %

Body fat percentage (%) is an important measure of health.
A higher level of total body fat is associated with an increased
risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and
some types of cancer. The distribution of body fat matters too.
Fat around our middle increases our risk of coronary heart
disease.

muscle mass

Muscles play an important role as they act as an engine in
consuming energy. As your muscle mass increases, your energy
consumption increases helping you reduce excess body fat levels
and lose weight in a healthy way.

Basal metabolic rate (bmr)

This is the minimum level of energy your body requires at
complete rest to function.

visceral fat

This is the fat that is in the internal body cavity, surrounding our
vital organs. Having high levels of this fat is not good.
Exercise will help to reduce it.

carbon monoxide

(for tobacco/cannabis users only)

YOUR SCORE: _______________________________________
This is a colourless, odourless and tasteless poisonous gas
inhaled when you smoke tobacco/cannabis. Carbon monoxide
has a very damaging affect on your body.
Carbon monoxide levels drop as soon as you stop smoking.
